What is the hARTland Art Walk?

It’s an Art Festival and Competition September 23 through October 7, 2023 in Hartland, Michigan. We like to say it’s, “Art Prize, Hartland Size.”

  • Artwork located throughout Settlers Park and area businesses over a 2 week period.

  • Art Walk Kickoff on September 23 at Settlers Park with live music, food trucks, and vendors. Empty Canvas performs live music, while inviting the crowd to come up and paint, at Noon and 2:00 pm!

  • The festival concludes with the final prizes awarded by a panel of judges at the closing ceremony on Oct 7 at Settlers Park.

Open to amateur and professional artists from Michigan and K-12 Hartland Consolidated Schools students and HCS classrooms.

Art Walk Contest Details

There are two categories for artists to enter:

  • Amateur and professional artists from Michigan—no age limits

– Prizes include a grand prize as selected by a panel of judges and two smaller prizes as selected by public vote.

  • Hartland Consolidated Schools students in Grades K-12 and HCS Classrooms

– $250 scholarships to be awarded as selected by a panel of judges for the following grade categories: K-4, 5-6, 7-8, 9-12

Become a hARTland Art Walk Venue!

Join hARTland Art Walk to create a unique art experience right here in our community by being an Artwork Venue Sponsor!

Venues throughout Hartland and surrounding areas open their doors to host artists and visitors during hARTland Art Walk. No matter the size of the space, whether it’s public or private, indoors or outdoors—museums, parks, retail shops, office spaces, restaurants, cafes, nonprofits, churches and truly any other building or space can join in the energy and excitement of hARTland Art Walk.

Venues are essential to the success of the event. hARTland Art Walk is collaborative by design. Each individual venue that signs up works directly with artists, organizing its own show. Collectively, these independently-organized art shows make up hARTland Art Walk. Our goal is to attract artists and visitors from our community and beyond.

Each host location will receive signage designating it as a host site, as well as inclusion in all marketing and promotional materials.

Venue fee sponsorship: $300

Venues are asked to allow visitors during the following hours:

Monday-Friday: 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.

Saturday: 11:00 – 4:00 p.m.
